Born and raised in Texas, Donovan Campbell has been a Katy ISD resident for the past 10 years. He is a husband of twenty-two years and the father of five children, and his oldest two currently attend Taylor High School. Donovan started his career in the US Marine Corps, serving five years as a Ground Intelligence Captain with three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After the Marines, Donovan transitioned to private sector entrepreneurship, and he currently serves as the CEO of Medbridge, a healthcare software business. Donovan continues to help veterans, co-founding the nonprofit NextOp, which has helped over 4,000 veterans find careers since inception in 2014. Donovan is also The New York Times best-selling author of two books, Joker One and The Leader’s Code. He and his wife are both former foster parents, and they are active members and small group leaders in Christ Community Church. As a Katy ISD board member, Donovan will push the district to become the best in our great state, with a focus on improving teacher retention, fostering academic excellence, and collaboratively involving parents in their children’s development. Donovan has a bachelor’s in History from Princeton University and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
